Home Health Aid training prepares learners to support clients who are elderly, recovering from illness, or living with a disability, in their own home rather than a clinical facility.
The course focuses on the judgment calls a home aide has to make alone — recognising when a change in a client's condition needs a phone call to family or a doctor, and when it's simply part of an ordinary day.
Sessions combine short lectures with hands-on practice using mobility equipment, transfer techniques, and basic monitoring tools.
assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving a client's dignity and independence
moving a client between bed, chair, and bathroom without injury to either party, including use of walkers and transfer belts
taking and recording temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and recognising signs that warrant escalation
supporting a client's prescribed medication schedule without administering medication directly
identifying and reducing fall hazards, and setting up a home environment for a client with limited mobility
