Overview

Step into the world of Basic Life Support (BLS) with CNA Training Institute, where our hands-on course is built to genuinely sharpen the life-saving instincts of healthcare professionals, not just tick a certification box.

Basic Life Support fundamentals at CNA Training Institute, Dubai

Welcome to CNA Training Institute, your partner in getting properly good at Basic Life Support (BLS). Our course is not dry theory, it’s designed to equip healthcare professionals with the real-life confidence when a medical emergency should actually occur in front of them. Standards change and we take it seriously, which is why we draw our curriculum directly from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) and create a curriculum that remains up-to-date with international standards such as MOH, HAAD, DHA, and DCAS.

Basic Life Support (BLS): Saving Lives Through Learned Skills

The underlying principle of Basic Life Support (BLS) is that it is a few essential skills that have a huge impact when things go wrong. These are the times BLS was designed for – cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, other life-threatening emergencies.

If you work in healthcare, you’re a first responder or just want to feel good if something should occur in front of you, this knowledge is important. This is a skill that you hope you never have to use, but you are glad that you learned it.

There are techniques that the BLS uses to maintain blood flow and oxygen to the brain until more advanced help can be rendered.

American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) - HSI's Impact

Our BLS course at CNA Training Institute is shaped around the guidelines set by the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), part of HSI. That connection isn’t just a name on a certificate, it means our training meets, and honestly exceeds, benchmarks recognised around the world. ASHI-HSI’s focus on careful assessment and calm, effective management sits at the core of everything we teach. It’s what makes it challenging but not overwhelming and it’s valued anywhere you go.

What You Will Learn: Basic Life Support Course Highlights

Our Basic Life Support courses go deep into real emergency scenarios, so you’re not just familiar with the theory, you’re ready to act.

BLS Comprises of

Recognition of Signs of Cardiac Arrest

You will be taught how to recognise the early signs of cardiac arrest and how much time it takes!

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

This includes correct technique for rescue breathing, chest compressions and why early and steady and continuous compressions are so important.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

You will feel confident administering an AED in a stressful situation, such as properly recognizing and positioning the pads during a crisis.

Airway Management

Here you’ll learn how to open an airway properly and keep breathing steady, along with techniques for clearing obstructions in both conscious and unconscious individuals.

BLS is a valuable skill for various individuals, including

  • Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals
  • First responders, including EMTs, police officers, and firefighters
  • Everyday people too, parents, teachers, anyone in the community who wants to feel prepared

At CNA Training Institute, our Basic Life Support courses run for individuals and for groups or corporate teams alike. You can train fully in person, or through our hybrid Simulation Learning format, which blends online coursework with real, hands-on practice in the classroom.
